Mollie Rayner, a member at Turramurra for more than 30 years and, since 2008, Asquith, has lost her battle with cancer. Mollie was President of the former Mid North Shore District from 2001-04, following stints as Secretary and VP. She was a very good bowler, winning club and District championships (including Mid North Shore Pairs, Triples and Fours), and representing her District on a great number of occasions. Always interested in the running of our sport, she acted as “deputy delegate” to WBNSW on behalf of Mid-West District (Dubbo area) for around 10 years. She will be remembered also for her work training umpires for the former “Group L” (Mid- and Lower- North Shore, Manly-Warringah and Bennelong). When she joined Asquith to be closer to home, Mollie was no longer in our Region; however, she became part of “North Shore ” again when Asquith joined our District the year following the district merger.
