SENIOR FOURS 2022-23

The 2023-24 Senior Women’s Fours in North Shore District are Jan Keller, Margaret Murphy, Julie Baker and Billie Maas (Belrose), who overcame the Neutral Bay team of Brenda Cook, Lea Eastaugh, Brenda Walker and Trish Wilson 18 – 11 in the final. The Belrose team made the better start, winning the first four ends for a score of 8-0. Then Neutral Bay began their fight-back and after 12 ends were only two shots behind, 11-9. However, from that point on, Belrose restricted Neutral Bay to a pair of singles, while they steadily took charge of the scoreboard to take the win 18-11.
SENIOR FOURS 2022-23
Congratulations to Sue Byrne, Bev Barton, Jan Woodcock and Di McBryde (St Ives) on winning the North Shore District Senior Fours. After torrential rain caused play to be abandoned on Tuesday 14 Feb, it was a hot, sunny morning when play resumed on Thursday 16th. After their interrupted semi-final was completed, Di’s team had a short break before taking on the Mosman team of Denise Elder, Betty-Anne Cleveland, De Brown and Jill Kehoe in the final. Scores remained fairly level until the 10th end, when a 4 to St Ives saw them leap ahead 13-6. From that point on, the St Ives players kept the pressure on their opponents, eventually closing out the match 25-11.

Congratulations to Patricia Tan’s team from Belrose, who are our 2021 Senior Fours champions. Lorraine Fevre, Kaye Alderton, Louise Hamshere & Patricia today defeated Shirley Andrew, Ros Love, Anne Hedger and Sue Tully of Asquith 29-11 in the Final at West Pymble. It was back-to-back titles for Lorraine, Louise and Patricia, with Kaye Alderton joining the team this year after Michelle Treadwell’s move to the Central Coast.

2020
The final of the Senior Fours was played at Warringah BC on Wednesday 26 February 2020. It was another all-Belrose final, with the team of Judith Clubb, Angela Little, Jeyam Siva and Billie Maas up against Lorraine Fevre, Michelle Treadwell, Louise Hamshere and Patricia Tan. Patricia’s team started strongly, quickly got out to a 9-2 lead, and never looked back. It was great to see Lorraine Fevre in this winning team, as she has been playing less than two years. 2019
The final of the Senior Fours was played on Tuesday 30 April between the Belrose team skipped by Billie Maas and the St Ives team skipped by Rhonwen Martin. Belrose held a six shot lead after 9 ends; however, St Ives fought back strongly. It was an exciting final few ends with Belrose clinching the win 18-15. Results from all rounds below:
2018
The State Senior Fours at District level was played on 29 May at Asquith. In the final, Bridget Nelson’s team from Turramurra played Patricia Tan’s team from Belrose. Although the Turramurra team were playing well, the Belrose team took ownership of the scoreboard right from the outset and claimed victory after 20 ends, with the score at 27-12.
2017
The North Sydney team of Slavica Beram, Peggy Wilton, Anna Vuckovic and Jenny Lea-Tutton are the 2017 Senior Fours Champions, having scored a decisive win over the Belrose team skipped by Margaret Brady in the final at Turramurra on 16 February.
