Congratulations to our Senior Pairs champions for 2023-24, whose match today went down to the wire! The finalist were between Carol Huttary and Joan Wilson (Asquith), up against Susan Conners and Jenny Palmer (Neutral Bay). The Asquith team was leading by 3 shots going into the final end 21-18. Neutral Bay was holding shot, but not enough to win or even draw the match. However, skip Jenny’s last bowl hit in one of her team’s front bowls, and her bowl rolled through with it to get three shots in front of Asquith’s closest, forcing an extra end which Asquith won to clinch the match 22-21. The Region 15 play-off is at Belrose on Sunday morning 24 September.

The Senior Pairs final for 2019 was played on 27 February between Sue Byrne and Vicki Bartrop (St Ives) and Caroling Duhigg and Robyn Novakovic (Mosman), The two teams’ grasp on the championship ebbed and flowed, with the more experienced St Ives team getting the upper hand in the last couple of ends to win 26-19. The final of the Senior Pairs 2018 was played between Jan Martin & Jenny Wallis (Turramurra) and Benita Andrews & Patricia Tan (Belrose) at Chatswood BC on 28 March, with Benita and Patricia securing a comprehensive victory. Full results from all rounds below:
