It was a happy day at St Ives on 9 November 2018 for the running of the end-of-year inter-club Versatility event. Players from 11 of the District’s 15 clubs plus a “district friendship” side competed, adorned as usual with “a touch of purple”. The blustery wind couldn’t dampen the spirits of the players, and at the end of the day the Mosman side emerged as clear winners, being the only side to win all four games, and were presented with the perpetual trophy donated many years ago by a former Lower North Shore president Joan Hodge. The Lindfield Rollers, complete with plaits, were runners-up with 3 wins and a draw. Participants were impressed with the enthusiasm shown for the sport by new bowler Nora Xu of North Sydney, who was presented with a “surprise gift” by District President Julie Hayden.
