Congratulations to Julie Baker (Forestville RSL) and Elizabeth Blackwell (Neutral Bay) who played their way into the “final 16” at the State Champion of Club Champions this week at Ettalong. Although Julie and Elizabeth’s winning streaks came to an end in those games, their opponents continued right through to the “pointy end” of the tournament. (Julie’s opponent, Leisa Burton of Forbes, was defeated in her semi-final by the eventual winner — Lee Benson of Wentworthville Leagues; Elizabeth’s opponent, Carmen Anderson of Cabramatta, was the eventual runner-up.)
