The final day of the 2017 Regional Saturday Challenge was played at Warringah BC on 22nd April.  In the morning, the four top teams after the qualifying rounds played in the semi finals.  Neutral Bay Piglets defeated North Sydney Northern Stars, and Pittwater Chalkies defeated Pittwater E-lemonators.  The Chalkies team of Corinne Carter, Margo Timms and Chris Binfield played superb bowls in the final to lead throughout the match and finish with a decisive win over the Neutral Bay Piglets.  Congratulations Chalkies! They will now respresent the Harbourside Zone in a play-off against other zone winners at Marrickville Bowling Club in November.

While the final was being played, all the other teams in the competition played a Carnival event of two games of nine ends.  Only four of the twelve teams which competed had two wins, two of which had a margin of 6 shots.  The winners then had to be decided on ends, with Warringah LPW just pipping the Mosman Whales to take out the trophy!

Regional Representative Jan Sutherland was on hand to present the very excited winners with their trophies.  It was a great day played in beautiful weather and wonderful spirit.
