The day started fine but cold at Harbord for the 2017 inter-district challenge. Manly-Warringah made a good start in the morning game, to be up 125-87 at lunch. The North Shore players were hoping to peg back the margin in the afternoon games but, with only 3 ends completed across all rinks, the heavens opened up. While the local plovers were delighted to find the gutters running with water and lakes forming on the greens, the players were less impressed and, after a protracted delay in steady rain, the organisers wisely brought the day to a close. Manly-Warringah retained the trophy, with the scores standing at 143-112 when play was abandoned.
