News from the 2016 Pennant SPO:
Monday 15th August – Neutral Bay got off to a flying start in Grade 2 in the Pennant play-offs with two good wins today against Forbes and Davistown RSL . Keep up the good work ladies! Warringah/Lane Cove start their campaign in Grade 3 tomorrow.
Tuesday 16th August – Neutral Bay had a bye in the morning and then unfortunately had a loss in the afternoon against Nowra. They have a tough match tomorrow morning against section leaders Merimbula-Imlay. We wish them the best of luck.
Warringah/ Lane Cove had a nail-biter in their first game today, just getting over the line by 2 shots against Asquith but managing 4 points . This afternoon saw them matched against their Section leaders Gulgong who proved too strong with a 5/0 result . Their final match tomorrow is against Leeton and District – let’s hope our ladies can finish with a decisive win! Leeton and District will be trying their hardest as they need to get the five points to catch Gulgong.
Wednesday 17th August –Neutral Bay had a tough last match against the Section leaders and did well to stay in touch throughout the match, eventually going down 49/33. They finished fourth in their Section, winning two of their four matches.
Warringah/Lane Cove put up a valiant effort in their final game against Leeton and District but were narrowly beaten 41/37 to finish third in their Section. Gulgong had a decisive win in their final game to convincingly win their Section and then went on to win the Grade 3 final.
Congratulations to both teams for representing the North Shore District so well in the State Pennat play-offs.
